Construction to Resume on New North City Water Storage Tank
Status: New water storage tank is being constructed.
NORTH CITY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
Improving and increasing the level of service to address Cheyenne’s water demands
ABOUT THE PROJECT.
The Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) is constructing a 6-million-gallon water storage tank, known as the North City Tank, and modifying the existing Buffalo Ridge Tank. The project is a cost-effective alternative to multiple previously planned projects, including re-building existing tanks and rehabilitating a pump station. Once completed, the new North City Tank will be over 100-feet high, 30-feet taller than the Buffalo Ridge Tank, and will replace the aging Round Top Tank. This project will improve the City's water distribution system, increasing the level of service to Cheyenne customers at high elevations and eastern locations while improving system resiliency.
